What to expect

Luxembourg is a region of welcome, transit and meeting places. Down the centuries it’s been criss-crossed by numerous invaders who have left their mark in different ways: on the language, on the convivial nature of the people, on the quirky comic books and surreal art, and on the table – the heart and soul of daily life.

The richness of its terroir, the creativity and know-how of its artisan producers and its sense of celebration combine to serve up exciting dishes with unique flavours.

Around Bastogne we will visit the local brewery Minne, also called Brewery de Bastogne. If you think you have seen everything about beer in Belgium, you are in for a big surprise. What about a wood stout, matured in Lambertus whishey barrels, Bastogne Pale Ale or a Ardenne Triple of 8,5%? We will enjoy a beer tasting paired with local specialties and a visit of the brewery, including the brewing process.

For Luxembourg’s best artisans, selecting the best cacao beans, protecting the craftsmanship and expertise of the master chocolatiers, refining recipes and creating new associations of flavours… is not a job but an art.

The very first Belgian chocolate slab was made in 1840. Since then, their master chocolatiers have experimented with the most fascinating ingredients, from botanicals to spices. We will stop by one of the best chocolatiers to learn how cacao beans are turned into delicious truffles and see the artisans at work in their kitchens. And afterwards we have a selection of their delicious creations to delight your taste buds.

The scenery and landscapes we will see and discover are breathtaking. The highlight of the tour is the Upper-Sûre Lake in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. We will learn about the history of the lake, discover the fauna and flora nestled in every nook and cranny or quite simply have a relaxing boat ride on the clear and tranquil waters.

All this combined with some of the finest food dishes of the Ardennes and Luxembourg : smoked ham (jambon d’Ardenne), sausages, e.g. saucisson d’Ardenne au fromage de la Bonne Dame (a sausage made with cheese) and sausisson de Marcassin (wild boar – this is game season), venison, pheasant, patés, trout, local cheeses such as Hervé,

The tour will be conducted by Mister Benny, a professional host and guide for more then 45 years, expert in every information you might wish for.

Transportation will be done by minibus or minivan and the number of participants is limited until 18 people to ensure a personalized and high quality service.
